My Top 10 Christmas Tunes

Yes, I'm am jumping on the band wagon that my dear sweet friend Tiffany has started, by sharing my top 10 favorite holiday Christmas songs! I put careful thought into my songs, and I realize, unlike my sister, they're not all warm and fuzzy. And you actually may have never heard of some of my songs. Some of these songs take me all the way back to my middle school years in choir, or my high school years with perhaps one of my favorite teachers of all time, the ridiculously crazy Mr. Carter. Looking over my songs, I kind of laugh because a lot of my songs are more childish and fun. But I guess that's just the "kid at heart" in me. And here they are in no particular order:

1.Here Comes Santa Clause- How can you not love this childhood jingle?!?!? This song just says Christmas Spirit all over it. With the reindeer and the bells in the background. It gets me excited, and spirited like a little child all over again.
2.Carol of the Bells- This song is by far the best, and perhaps my favorite song to hear every Christmas! Where I was first introduced to it? Home Alone, the one holiday movie I remember watching from my youth, with my Aunt Norma.
3.I'll Be Home For Christmas- This has been a wish I've made on Christmas' pasts. This song always hits me to the core.
4.Grandma's Killer Fruit Cake- I sang this song in my middle school choir, and always thought it was the cutest, and funniest Christmas tune I've ever heard.
5.Jingle Bell Rock- I love this, because ever since a little girl, I always remember dancing to this tune in my polished black tap shoes, and it has never left my head.
6.Children Go Where I Send Thee- Mr. Carter's high school choir sang this in good old 2002, and I loved when we'd get to sing it. I would glow, because it was such a fun loving gospel moving, high spirited song.
7.Baby It's Cold Outside- Another high school choir song I fell in love with. I didn't think I ever really liked this song, until we sang it as a choir.
8.Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree- This is a tribute to Home Alone again. And I just could not leave this song out of my list. Oh the joy!
9.Last Christmas- This is just a feel good girly song. I like the Ashley Tisdale version.
10.All I Want For Christmas is You- Good old Mariah! That voice is stellar!
11.O Holy Night- This song is literally the song that capture my heart in its' fabulous lyrics. "Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices."
12.Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas Song- I know you probably think I'm crazy for throwing this one in there. But it seriously makes me smile. :)

Ok...so I couldn't cut it down to 10, without being happy. So I left at 12. Deal with it. Hahaha. Merry Christmas everyone! :)

Grandma's Killer Fruitcake. :) Made my day! My dad taught it to his 5th grade class last year for the Christmas program.

Jingle Bell Rock, I can easily picture you dancing with your tap shoes. Hijita I enjoyed so much when you dance. I can hardly wait until you are back to finish what you started. I think you will be back sooner than expected. Have faith hijita and pray. Help me with my prayers. Love, Mommy.

A Few of My Favorite Things That Start with the Letter "M"

My childhood friend, Amy, posted a blog with ten things that all started with the same letter! Her cousin gave her the letter she used, and then after reading her funny blog entry filled with thing's that started with the letter "K," I asked Amy to give me a letter! She gave me my letter of "M." Being skeptical, I thought this would be hard, but a list of 10 quickly became a list of 21, so I went back, and chose my top ten to share with y'all. And here's what I came up with . Ten Things I Like That Start with the Letter "M": 1. Mother. Well, this was the first thing that came to my mind when thinking of the letter "M". The sweet image of my dear mother. If any of you know anything about my mother...you've probably heard me mention how crazy she is! But what I mean by crazy is that I don't know where she gets all her energy from, at the whopping age of 29 years old (Haha! Or so she'll tell you that she's that

The Law of Tithe & Knowing He Is Real

I woke up this morning. Everything was as it should be, life was absolutely perfect with it's imperfections, and I was completely content. I began my morning brushing my teeth, reflecting on what had occurred the night before. I sat in my room, on my little spot clearing among a disastrous mess that I was trying to clean up, and after speaking on the phone with my mother, I decided to go to a corner of my room. I kneeled down to pray, and out loud I gave a long sincere prayer of thanks to my Heavenly Father. It's amazing how long we can go doing things incorrectly, even though we already know what we should be doing and that it will help us of we practice obedience. The Law of Tithing is one of those great commandments I struggle with. I could perhaps say that my parents didn't really ingrain this law in my head well enough, but I never had to deal with this type of responsibility until I moved out of the home. So I must face reality, and know that the responsibility

Speed Dating

I'm not so sure I've ever been a real big fan of dating, or speed dating at that matter. But then again, my dating experiences have been so few, that I can't really judge speed dating too harshly. If anything, I would practice meeting more people, spend time getting to know my friends better, and just have a great time laughing at the most bizarre conversations. So for those of you who haven't ever been speed dating, it's the funniest thing ever. Luckily, it was a combined ward activity, so there were a lot of people from ward there that I knew, and I had the opportunity to meet some new people from the other ward. On this occasion, I only had 90 seconds to talk to a person before I had to move down the line of chairs to meet someone new. At first I was like, I'm sitting among my ward member friends, and I already know them, but then I thought it will be fun to ask them questions I've never really asked them before. Some people were really interesting
