Hobbies: Art & Photography Landscapes

Being the artistic person that I am...I'm sure many of you will not be surprised of my facination for painting and photography.

While my mother was in the process she found two of my high school art water colors that I absolutley loved. Takes me back 9 years. But still fun to see. I always loved lanscapes.

My mom threw away a lot of stuff in California in the process of moving to Utah, but somehow these two painting never made it to the trash. My mom said when she found them, after discarding my art works, she knew she would have to keep. They must have not made it to the trash for a reason. And honestly, I was quite surprised to see any of my high school art work still around.

Lately, I've realized how much I love sunsets. So one day on my day off I drove around Orem, and Pleasant Grove taking pictures. My mom calls and asks me where I am and what I'm doing.

"Ummm I'm just driving around to no where, taking pictures." LOL

But truly, a picture really is partially planned, partial skill, and mostly great timing. What I've decided was to carry my camera on hand more now, so I can capture these moments more often on camera, and share them with you.

Here is some of my work.

This one is just outside of my work building, on my way home to the car. Lucky moment for me...grabbed my camera. Click! I love this one.

This one is just after the rain, right outside my apt door on my way to work. Rainbow! Click!

Here are the rest I took just driving around Orem and PG. :)

Having hobbies outside of what we already do, is a great way to keep ourselves calm and stress free, and enjoy life. I really find taking pictures relaxing from all the chaos of work and life.

I encourage all of you who claim they have no extra time, to make the time to pick up a few healthy hobbies in your life. I think you'll find yourself much happier and healthier! Much love! ;)

A Few of My Favorite Things That Start with the Letter "M"

My childhood friend, Amy, posted a blog with ten things that all started with the same letter! Her cousin gave her the letter she used, and then after reading her funny blog entry filled with thing's that started with the letter "K," I asked Amy to give me a letter! She gave me my letter of "M." Being skeptical, I thought this would be hard, but a list of 10 quickly became a list of 21, so I went back, and chose my top ten to share with y'all. And here's what I came up with . Ten Things I Like That Start with the Letter "M": 1. Mother. Well, this was the first thing that came to my mind when thinking of the letter "M". The sweet image of my dear mother. If any of you know anything about my mother...you've probably heard me mention how crazy she is! But what I mean by crazy is that I don't know where she gets all her energy from, at the whopping age of 29 years old (Haha! Or so she'll tell you that she's that ...

The Law of Tithe & Knowing He Is Real

I woke up this morning. Everything was as it should be, life was absolutely perfect with it's imperfections, and I was completely content. I began my morning brushing my teeth, reflecting on what had occurred the night before. I sat in my room, on my little spot clearing among a disastrous mess that I was trying to clean up, and after speaking on the phone with my mother, I decided to go to a corner of my room. I kneeled down to pray, and out loud I gave a long sincere prayer of thanks to my Heavenly Father. It's amazing how long we can go doing things incorrectly, even though we already know what we should be doing and that it will help us of we practice obedience. The Law of Tithing is one of those great commandments I struggle with. I could perhaps say that my parents didn't really ingrain this law in my head well enough, but I never had to deal with this type of responsibility until I moved out of the home. So I must face reality, and know that the responsibility...

Not ancient, but old...and dealing with the cards laid out in front of me.

So, I'm sitting here at work...thinking...that I can't think of a time, when I'm not thinking...LOL. But yeah, first, I still have to post all those blogs about all my fun adventures that I've documented on my camera. And I'll try to get to that later today...if not definitely tomorrow. But on another note, I've been particularly thinking about how I'm getting OLD. Now, I know I'm not OLD as in ANCIENT...but my look is changing. It's interesting how as a little kid you're never really aware of how your physical look is actually evolving and aging and even maturing. But I feel like, when I look in the mirror now, I've seen physical changes in my appearance, that I just don't have any physical control over anymore. No make-up or clothing can change the fact that I have dark baggier undereyes than I did before, or that I'm just an older person now. And the cruel reality is that I certainly don't feel as pretty as I did last year. H...
